World Record:
STAR WARS (1978) - BEN (OBI-WAN) KENOBI 12 BACK-A AFA 85 NM+ (DOUBLE-TELESCOPING/SKU ON FOOTER, POP 2/HIGHEST GRADED EXAMPLE).
Unpunched and Glorious!

A 1978 Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi 12 Back-A action figure, graded at 85 NM+ by AFA topped the list with a World-Record price of $105,182 after buyer's premium when the auction closed on Wednesday, January 22nd at 9:00pm.

The figure, a Double-Telescoping (IYKYK) version, a rarity on it's own. The fact that it remains "unpunched"(never hung on a retail peg) with no signs of price stickers creates an even more-coveted piece that garnered 6 total bids, meaning the whales were watching and came in heavy.

A YouTube Video Showcasing the incredible condition was posted to Hakes' YouTube Channel without a doubt helped collectors make up their minds.

That wasn't the only figure bringing in big numbers- The #2 spot was a 1984 Star Wars- Power Of The Force Coin Set Graded an 85 NM+ which brought in $41,536 followed by a 1984 Transformers G1 Megatron Graded 80 NM by AFA. In-Total, there were nearly 2-dozen figures that achieved a 5-figure sale price after buyer's premium.

Record-Breaking Auction for Action Figure Sales by Hake's
That's a lotta commas!

This clearly solidifies Hake's as the #1 Action Figure Auction House in the World, as they continue to lead the way in connecting collectors with the most sought-after treasures in the industry.

This auction was the first (of many to come) planned around the collection of one Jeff Jacob who is by far one of the most dedicated and legendary Star Wars action figure collectors the world has ever seen.

Hake's has put a significant Marketing blitz behind The Jeff Jacobs Collection which is unlike anything the world has seen...well...since Hake's blew the galaxy open when they became the first auction house in history to break the six-figure mark with a single action figure, the Rocket-firing Boba Fett Prototype (L-Slot) action figure, graded 85 NM+ by AFA or $112,926.

The Jeff Jacobs Collection: Part II is tentatively set to go up for auction this coming May at Hakes.com, so be sure to keep your eye out! Read this article on the Super Jersey Comic Expo's X account.
